Inland Migrant Encounter
The OICDT Inland Migrant Encounter training has been delivered to officers across regional forces through individual training events. Learners reported improved clarity on who to call, when and why, with scenario planning strengthening joint decision making.
As a result of the training, there was a significant uplift in learners’ abilities most critical to inland migrant encounters in lorries: first response, scene control, evidence handling, safeguarding, and leveraging the National Command and Control Unit and Immigration Enforcement effectively.
This investment in frontline response to OIC is being strengthened with investment in coordinated, multi‑agency action that protects victims and disrupts criminal networks.
